How you can support Tropica Verde“Any help is welcome” – What can I do?
Many people don’t even know what it means to live in the tropics, how complicated the living conditions are and how sensitive the ecological balance is.
If you, as a member, would like to raise awareness of tropical forests in your area and their importance in
our everyday lives, a lot has already been done for our cause.
Those who know what needs to be protected are also more willing to support conservation projects and information work by making a donation.
Approaching your own employer or other companies for sponsorship, distributing information material, an information stand or a presentation at school, community or university are all ways in which you can become active here with us.
Information that you bring back from trips to tropical regions or visual material (photos, maps) that you can make available to Tropica Verde are also important contributions.
And for those with manual skills, building an attractive information stand or a donation box is another way of getting involved for your own enjoyment and for an important cause.

BECOME A MEMBER

With your membership, you give us your voice for our work.
The more members we represent, the stronger our standing vis-à-vis politics and business.
As a member, you have many opportunities at Tropica Verde.
You can get actively involved in the association’s work, volunteer at events and exchange ideas with like-minded people on topics such as rainforest conservation, climate protection, environmental education and more.
Or you can simply support our projects regularly with your membership fee and help to preserve the rainforest in Costa Rica in the long term.
Because by becoming a member of Tropica Verde, you are promoting sustainable climate protection and helping us to continuously develop and expand conservation projects.
PATENSHIP
With a jungle sponsorship, you support Tropica Verde’s current nature & species conservation and education projects in Costa Rica and Germany.
The amount with which you conclude a sponsorship is converted by us into CO₂ equivalents.
25 corresponds to one tonne of CO₂ saved over one year.
All current projects are included in the calculation.
By taking out a sponsorship, the existing primeval forests are protected, former farmland is reforested, new trees are planted and environmental education is also promoted.
This combination of measures to protect the rainforest makes Tropica Verde’s rainforest sponsorship unique.
For your donation of at least €25, you will receive a personalized certificate and a donation receipt for submission to your tax office.

Regular donations enable us to plan rainforest protection and environmental education projects better and for the long term.

“Helping is better than complaining!” – Under this motto, Tropica Verde was founded in 1989 by a group of Frankfurt biologists as a non-profit association to take action against the destruction of the tropical rainforests.

VOLONTARIAT
Tropica Verde does not have an explicit volunteer program.
Depending on whether there is a specific need in one of our projects in Costa Rica or in the information office in Germany, we can try to support a volunteer program over a certain period of time.
When applying, please be sure to send us the time of year, duration, primary interest and a short CV.
We will then be happy to respond to your request.
CO2 COMPENSATION
Would you like to do something to protect the climate and the environment by offsetting CO2?
Then find out here how you can effectively protect the climate with Tropica Verde.
Very important: In order to protect the climate, the top priority should be to avoid emissions.
In concrete terms, this means, among other things:
- Turn the heaters down a few degrees
- Energy-efficient renovation of houses
- Remove electrical appliances from standby
- only eat meat occasionally
- Use more bicycles or public transport and walk
- much more!
Unfortunately, some climate-damaging actions cannot be avoided.
If you want to travel to Costa Rica, for example, a flight is unavoidable.
This is where a donation to Tropica Verde comes into play, because with your donation or membership you are making a targeted contribution to binding CO₂ and protecting the climate.
To protect our climate, we ask you to do both:
Donate to rainforest conservation and save greenhouse gas emissions wherever possible ! Further tips on climate and rainforest-friendly behavior can be obtained from NABU, for example.
We would like to take this opportunity to point out that Tropica Verde does not advertise and sell traditionalCO2 offsetting.
CO₂ offsetting is often cited by companies as a green measure to improve their image.
Many factors need to be considered when it comes to CO₂ offsetting.
CO₂ offsetting is still a highly debated field.
Anyone who donates to Tropica Verde is not offsetting, but supporting climate protection projects in general. Find out more here!
TROPICA VERDE COFFEE
2 euros per bag of the species protection edition go to our projects
Don Roberto produces climate-friendly coffee from Costa Rica.
Together, we have launched a conservation edition of this delicious coffee on the market.
For every pack of Tropica Verde coffee sold, €2 is donated to projects to protect the greater soldier macaw.
