Our mission statement

TROPICA VERDE e.V. is committed to the conservation of tropical habitats, the preservation of biological diversity and the protection of endangered species. Specific conservation projects are carried out in Costa Rica and accompanied by educational measures both in Costa Rica and in Germany. The aim of the educational work is to raise awareness for the sustainable protection of the environment and biodiversity among the population and especially among children. The successful implementation of our projects and educational work is based on long-term, trusting and transparent cooperation with local stakeholders on the ground.

The little anteater, called Tamandua, is always on the lookout for ant nests whose inhabitants he licks up with his long tongue.

17 Ziele für Nachhaltigkeit

Die Arbeit von Tropica Verde orientiert sich an den Sustainable Development Goals (kurz: SDGs) der Vereinten Nationen. Die Ziele dienen weltweit der Sicherung einer nachhaltigen Entwicklung auf ökonomischer, ökologischer und sozialer Ebene. Sie traten 2016 in Kraft und haben eine Laufzeit von 15 Jahren – also noch bis 2030.

Tropica Verde verfolgt mit den Projekten die Erreichung von vier Kern SDGs:

SDG 12: Nachhaltiger Konsum und Produktion
SDG 13: Maßnahmen zum Klimaschutz
SDG 14: Leben unter Wasser
SDG 15: Leben an Land

Als Basis unserer Arbeit und jedes Projektes dient immer SDG 4: Hochwertige Bildung.
