Stefan Rother, founding member of our association, biologist and photographer, presents the fascinating world of the rainforests with a focus on Costa Rica in his illustrated talk entitled “Secrets of the rainforest – special features, threats and protection”.
This report is about the special features of tropical rainforests and how they differ from the forests in our latitudes. Numerous “secrets” of the rainforests are revealed and explained in an easily digestible way using photos and videos. In addition, people who have been working locally for many years to preserve the rainforests will have their say. And concrete projects in Costa Rica are used to illustrate how environmental education in local schools can be combined with the establishment of long-term conservation programs.
