Our partner Pedro Mendez Tam collects the seeds of monkey pot trees for planting on the Reserva Kinkajou. The seeds are very popular with several animals – last year, the seeds collected for the tree nursery fell victim to animal theft twice, first by a squirrel and then by a coati. In our project, they are actually intended to benefit the greater soldier macaws, which can crack the hard shells containing several seeds thanks to their powerful beaks.
