Now that environmental education in Costa Rica has got off to a good start again in Monte Alto, we want to launch an extensive educational program for curious young and old here in Frankfurt too. For us, education means understanding connections, getting to know other and foreign countries and cultures and trying out new products.
This is what the educational program should look like
For schools in Frankfurt, we would like to build a bridge to schools in Costa Rica around Monte Alto. What is their everyday life like, the way to school, the environment and what is their favorite food? The pupils from Frankfurt and Costa Rica will use video diaries to present their everyday lives to each other and get to know each other better. The excursions planned for each group will be exciting. These are arranged thematically according to the students’ interests. The focus is on learning for life in their own everyday lives.

The Tropica Verde team in Frankfurt is preparing a program about the rainforest for curious visitor groups. A program is being developed for people who have been thinking about volunteering for some time.
What interests people who visit Frankfurt or have lived in Frankfurt for a long time? How can we present our work and the need to protect the rainforest in Costa Rica from here?
Statistics show that 25% of our medicines come from the rainforest. What if it can no longer fulfill its function? Rainforests are more than just trees, monkeys and parrots. Anyone who has already seen one of the fantastic slide shows by our project team member Dr. Stefan Rother knows this. People live in and from the rainforest and are dependent on its function, as is also the case with climate change.
So if you are interested in volunteering at Tropica Verde, would like to contribute something yourself or use our programs, you can contact the information office at any time. We look forward to any support.
