“We turn the clock back 30 years and go back to 1989. A small group of biologists, journalists and photographers meet in a seminar room at the Zoological Institute in Frankfurt am Main….”, the two founding members Stefan Rother and Martin Scholz, who are still active today, tell us about the founding of the association. The original aim of raising awareness of deforestation in Costa Rica was followed by concrete projects on the ground. Today, the association has a wealth of experience in the protection of tropical forests and reforestation projects.
To mark our anniversary, in the new issue we tell you about the beginnings of our association and show you how many projects and measures Tropica Verde has carried out for the tropical forests in Costa Rica over the last 30 years. We will give you an insight into current developments on site and introduce you to our latest project Reserva Kinkajou. Our local partners from the projects in Costa Rica have their say in various interviews.
