Successful collaboration with the Cordes & Graefe Foundation
Environmental education is an essential part of our project work in Costa Rica, as it should be part of all our projects in terms of sustainability. 2024 was the most successful year so far – we were able to reach more than 3,000 children and many adults through our local teachers.
The first handbook for environmental education was produced and distributed to environmental education centers. With the game “Who will be the best rainforest conservationist” (download here for free), we were able to supplement the lessons in a playful and didactic way, which generated great feedback from the schools. And for the first time, the environmental education offered by Tropica Verde has also become established in indigenous schools in the Talamanca region. Another important step forward!
All of this is only possible thanks to investors and sponsors. This is because the environmental educators receive fees, training materials have to be procured and transportation to excursions has to be organized.
We would therefore like to express our special thanks to the Cordes & Graefe Foundation, which is supporting us again in 2025 with an amount of €25,000 after 2024. Without this support, Tropica Verde would not be able to offer environmental education to this extent.
A very important contribution to sustainability and the respectful treatment of nature!
