Celebrations in the Palmengarten and a huge thank you to all our colleagues
We would like to thank all our sponsors and volunteers who supported us at our anniversary celebration in the Villa Leonhardi in the Palmengarten and made it possible!!! It was a wonderful celebration where not only our members met, but also many other rainforest friends came together to talk about the tropical forests of Costa Rica and jointly promote their conservation.
We would also like to thank Her Excellency Lydia Teralta Cordero from the Embassy of Costa Rica and the Honorary Consul Dr. Jana Dressler as well as Mr. Peter Dommermuth and Dr. Christiane Frosch from BioFrankfurt for their words of support. We are also particularly pleased about the donation from the IGS Nordend school this year, which was presented to us by the two teachers Reinhard Gabriel and Matthias Walter as part of our anniversary celebrations, while their pupils next door showed visitors how they are bringing their school closer to the goal of CO2 neutrality.
Numerous visitors listened to the exciting stories of our project coordinator Dr. Stefan Rother, who took his audience on a journey to the “secrets of the rainforest” and were delighted by the excellent nature photographs. During the break, visitors were able to enjoy the tropical flora themselves for a moment in Frankfurt’s Palmengarten. Between the project presentations, they were informed about the association’s environmental education work at various information stands. During a special tour of the Tropicarium, the Green School gave an insight into the joint educational module “Macaws and Pineapples” and the Hanau Environmental Center illustrated the jointly developed educational module on the topic of the water cycle.
Thanks to a particularly generous donation from Fattoria La Vialla, visitors were provided with delicious spreads and cheeses as well as wine and sparkling wine samples. Those who enjoyed the wine could try their luck at the raffle and hope to win one of almost one hundred bottles of wine or sparkling wine or a large calendar with beautiful pictures from Costa Rica.
We would also like to thank the Neudorff company and the MT Druck printing company, who also supported us with a donation for the anniversary celebration and for printing the new members’ magazine.
During our anniversary celebration, we gained many new supporters for our association and our projects in Costa Rica and are particularly pleased to welcome several new members!
