Successful Collaboration with the Cordes & Graefe Foundation
Environmental education is an essential part of our project work in Costa Rica, as it should be integrated into all our projects in the spirit of sustainability. 2024 was our most successful year to date—through our local teachers, we were able to reach more than 3,000 children and many adults.
The first environmental education handbook was created and distributed to environmental education centers. With the game “Who Will Be the Best Rainforest Protector?” (download it for free here), we were able to supplement classroom instruction in a fun and educational way, which generated great feedback from the schools. And for the first time, the environmental education program offered by Tropica Verde has also taken root in indigenous schools in the Talamanca region. Another important step forward!
All of this is only possible thanks to investors and sponsors. After all, the environmental educators receive compensation, educational materials must be purchased, and transportation for field trips must be arranged.
We would therefore like to extend our special thanks to the Cordes & Graefe Foundation, which will once again support us in 2025—as it did in 2024—with a grant of €25,000. Without this support, Tropica Verde would not be able to offer environmental education on this scale.
