Plantaciones Edelman, like Tropica Verde, is reforesting biodiverse forests in Costa Rica. CEO Michael Ott and project coordinator and founder Dr. Stefan Rother visited Plantaciones Edelman’s operations in Costa Rica in 2017. Since then, Andreas has been supporting Tropica Verde by providing seedlings of rare tree species, which have been and continue to be planted at the Reserva Kinkajou. Stefan and Andreas are in regular contact regarding Great Military Macaws, forest almond trees, and more. In 2022, the two conducted an interview in which Stefan described the current status of the Great Military Macaw—also known as the Bechstein’s Macaw—in Costa Rica. He also shares tips and tricks for installing nesting aids at dizzying heights. In addition, they explain why people might soon be able to eat forest almonds as well.

The Plantaciones Edelman e.V. association has been protecting the rainforest in Costa Rica for many years. The film *Almendro—Tree of Life* explores the mysteries of the forest almond tree and why it is so important to both people and animals. There will also be a short presentation with firsthand information about the successful reforestation of the rainforest in Costa Rica.
