The mysterious world of the rainforest on a tour of the Tropicarium (Palm Garden)
As part of this year’s regional action week “Experience biodiversity” from 16 – 25.05.2025, we invite you todiscover the impressive world of the rainforest on a tour of the Tropicarium. The “Monte Alto Bed”which is modeled on model of a protected region on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica in the palm garden and presents a selection of special plants.
This bed was named after the place which, thanks to the commitment of Tropica Verde and the local population, who call themselves Ticos, and partly thanks to donations from the Frankfurt school IGS Nordend, was able to restore its water source. Since massive deforestation in the 1950s, the river no longer carried any water.
