Unfortunately, the ‘Day of the Tree’ fell through in the truest sense of the word. Due to heavy downpours, the number of participants this year was significantly lower than in previous years. Anyone who has ever been to the tropics knows what it can mean when opaque threads stream from the sky. Roads become impassable and small footpaths in the forest sink into the mud.
Only the pupils from Pilangosta School (some of whom can be seen in this video) were once again delighted to take part in the campaign. They listened intently to the presentation on the reforestation measures and took part in the subsequent discussion. When the rain gave them a short break, they even went outside to plant a tree themselves, at least symbolically.
However, to ensure that the ‘Day of the Tree’ can take place in full next year, we are continuing to collect donations for this need!
