Colombia Viva e.V and the Festival Dias de Cine cordially invite you to the screening of the documentary film from Colombia “Homo botanicus” (2018) by director Guillermo Quintero.
The screening will take place on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at 8:15 pm at DFF – Deutsches Filminstitut & Filmmuseum, Schaumainkai 41, 60596 Frankfurt am Main.
The movie is in Spanish and with English subtitles. After the film, you can ask the director Mr. Quintero your questions in person.

Information about the film:
A professor and his master student set off on a research trip to the untouched tropical high mountains of the Andes. The eminent botanist Julio Betancur has already collected over 19,000 plant samples and archived them in a gigantic herbarium in Bogotá, which he is constantly expanding, currently with the help of his young follower Cristian. The filmmaker accompanies the unusual couple. As an outside observer, he comments on the events from off-screen. There is admiration for her passion, but also doubts about her meticulous collecting. Is it still appropriate to classify nature in this way?
