In our project “
Lapa Verde
” is about forest and species conservation in Maquenque. TROPICA VERDE has a 103-hectare area there (Reserva Lapa Verde), which consists of primary and secondary forest. It is located in a biological corridor that provides a natural habitat for a wide variety of species, including the greater black macaw(Ara ambiguus).
The area in the extensive rainforests must be checked at regular intervals and the borders must be kept clear by a small but visible path. Our project partner Ulíses Aleman is currently on the road with a motorcycle. However, the paths there are so bad that it is far too dangerous. That is why we are now collecting donations for a quad bike that is much better suited to these conditions.
