Biologist Dr. Ina Knobloch researched the rainforest canopy, planted trees and protected forests and sea turtles. A journey of discovery through Costa Rica’s natural wonders from the 1980s to the present day, with missions and adventures in the jungle, on mountains of fire, on rivers and in the sea. Complemented by brilliant research excursions to national parks and private protected areas, from the jungle canopy to the depths of the ocean. It explains the importance of biodiversity for the climate and the survival of mankind, as well as the uniqueness of plants and animals such as the quetzal, jaguar, toucan and sloth. It also pays tribute to the heroes who have made Costa Rica a natural paradise. A “must have” for all Costa Rica fans and readers interested in climate and biodiversity, published shortly before the COP16 biodiversity conference.
