Tropica Verde and the Jaguar Rescue Center: A partnership that inspires new generations<\/h2>\n

Nature conservation is only possible if it is shaped collectively. In Talamanca, this principle is brought to life year after year through the collaboration between Tropica Verde and the Jaguar Rescue Center (JRC). For several years now, our colleague and friend Andrey Morales has opened the doors of the rescue center to us and has accompanied us with his experience and deep commitment in bringing the local wildlife closer to the local communities.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

\"Protecting<\/span><\/div>

In 2025, we conducted more than ten educational field trips to the Jaguar Rescue Center, involving over twelve schools from Talamanca and more than 300 students and teachers. Each of these visits provided a unique opportunity to observe first-hand the impact of human development on wildlife while fostering a deep sense of respect and responsibility towards nature among participants. <\/p>\n

The educational trips to the rescue center are experiential experiences that go far beyond the classroom. When children, young people and teachers directly encounter injured, orphaned or rehabilitated animals, they become aware in an empathetic and immediate way that nature conservation is an urgent necessity. These experiences encourage them to engage with issues such as habitat loss, electrocution from overhead power lines, illegal hunting, pollution and wildlife trafficking. At the same time, they open up the space for discussions about solutions: Reforestation, biological corridors, responsible waste management, sustainable tourism and community action. <\/p>\n

Real impact is created through joint action<\/h2>\n

At Tropica Verde, we firmly believe that you can only protect what you know. That is why environmental education is one of the main pillars of our work. We strengthen knowledge about local biodiversity, its threats and ways to protect it, integrating the perspectives of indigenous communities and the coastal region. Working with children and young people plays a central role in this, as they can become multipliers of good practices in their families and communities. Every guided tour, every question and every moment of wonder at the Jaguar Rescue Center sows a seed of change. <\/span><\/p>\n

The partnership between Tropica Verde and the Jaguar Rescue Center shows that real impact happens when we act together. Collaboration between conservation organizations, educational institutions and government institutions is crucial to ensure that today's actions make a lasting contribution to the protection of Talamanca's natural heritage. We will continue to strengthen this cooperation in the belief that together we can inspire new generations to become guardians of nature. By protecting the forests, we protect life. <\/p>\n
