The survey of our recently acquired property – Finca Alicia<\/strong> – is now complete and Victor, the Costa Rican forestry engineer who has been commissioned with the reforestation, has developed a plan for the reforestation: The 1.5 hectares to be planted will be divided into 3 areas. Each area is to be reforested differently. Why? The aim is to find out which reforestation method contributes most quickly and best to restoring the natural forest vegetation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The three variants are as follows: 1st area: Plant purchased native tree seedlings in parallel rows.<\/p>\n

The two other areas are to be planted with tree seedlings specially grown in Monte Alto. A separate tree nursery was set up for this purpose. Viktor has already started. The tree nursery is already showing its first tender shoots. While the tree seedlings on area 2 are planted in a zigzag pattern in the “chicken foot” model, small island plantings are created on area 3.<\/p>\n
